Student Name: Michael. C Medium of Artwork: Photoshop. Title of Artwork: Photoshop Book covers Date: 06/18/18 Allan Davey was the inspiration behind this project.. The project that we did earlier in the year (See Photoshop on my site) People who gave me input were: Thomas, Abella, Quinn. They gave me positive feedback and motivation. I went away from the colour schemes on my sketches, and couldn't find a good background that matched my Alice and wonderland background. So I did a totally different one. The main idea behind both Blink and Alice in wonderland stayed pretty well the same. I used my class time relatively efficiently, though I recommend having more card readers on hand. I often wasted my time in class because I had nothing to do while other students were using one, and then rushing when I did have one.During the making, I mainly worked at school, Id say 9-1. If I could restart this project I would've done a video/documentary instead. I have no clue why I didn't. This project was difficult to find motivation for.I barely got into the “Scene” part, so that was most difficult. My favourite part would be how the Alice in wonderland book cover kept a common theme/style. It looks how I want it to. I worked fairly hard, and found myself working too hard at points, and then not working at all. I would burn myself out fairly easily.
I think all of the projects were reasonable. I personally hated the flash project, and wouldn't subject MYSELF to it again, but many students would enjoy a project like that. I think you should be as inclusive and have students try as much as they can. Every project, good or bad influences you as an artist. Everything betters you, you'll learn what you are good and what you're bad at. You’ll learn where to direct your attention, and where to stay away from. If I could design a project for this course I would do a project where you would research media artists who pack a major political message. Kind of like when we did it on Roadsworth, Banksy, etc. But it would be a lot more deep, with different artists for each student. I could’ve used more motivation from other artists this semester. I plan to continue doing photography, and probably won't touch photoshop all that much apart from my design class next year. I recently got into the SHSM Program, so that something artistic to look forward too. If you have any questions at all, just ask. Thank you.
